(Jody) Hynds

Joseph J. (Jody) Hynds, 92, of Denton, TX passed away on March 5, 2017. He was born July 4, 1924 in Atlanta, GA. to the late George and Allie Belle Hynds.
Mr. Hynds graduated from Atlanta Boys' High Prep School in Atlanta, GA. and was a Naval Aviator in World War II and again during the Korean War. Mr. Hynds was an Architectural Hardware Consultant, working in the Builders Hardware Business for 40 years. He was a lifelong Presbyterian, serving in many ways, most notably as Deacon, Elder and as Church Treasurer. He was a member of the Hot Springs First Presbyterian Church for 29 years.
Joseph is survived by his wife of 70 years, Jane Oatley Hynds, son, Joe (Paula) Hynds Jr. of Branford, CT, daughter, Martha (Jim) Cavness of Sanger, TX, four grandchildren, 6 greatgrandchildren, and many nieces and nephews and their families.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, George Jr., and two sisters, Elizabeth Rogers and Forest McGeary.
Visitation will be held Wednesday March 8, 2017 from 1-2 P.M. at DeBerry Funeral Directors. A Graveside Service will be held Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. at Roselawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church 213 Whittington Ave, Hot Springs, Ark., 71901 or to the Denton Village Church Good Samaritan Society 2500 Hinkle Dr. Denton, Texas 76201.
